Second Google Auth Request in Browser after logging into Whiteboard
-
I've used by Companion App to login into the Whiteboard App with a Google Workspace for Education Plus account. The Whiteboard App shows me logged in. When I open the embedded browser in the Whiteboard App and navigate to any Google Workspace content I'm prompted to log into Google. I would have expected the embedded Whiteboard App browser to be able leverage my already provide Google credentials to access the content. I am able to use the Magic Box without having to re-authenticate. I have observed this behavior on both the Windows App and running the Whiteboard App on the board natively. Is this the expected behavior of this app or is there something else I should be doing to make this work?

Hi:
Google had changed their policy that it no longer allows user to sign in Google through any embedded browser built on top of CEF (Chromium Embedded Framework). Therefore, you are not able to access your content on Google from the embedded browser.

@frank-chu-viewsonic-com Thank you for this reference. I wish their was a workaround in the Whiteboard App, but at least I now understand what we're dealing with.

@frank-chu-viewsonic-com Is it possible to tell the software to open links to the device's browsers instead of the embedded one?

It is possible for entity instance which is enrolled under an entity (a school). Entity admin can disable the embedded browser of particular entity instances inside the entity management web console.
However, currently, it is impossible for regular instance to do that.
